March 2025 in Review
March has been a month of growth and impact for EC Security. We welcomed Dowry into the EC Security family, expanded our community presence, and delivered solid results in crime prevention. From key arrests to swift incident responses and proactive patrols, our team worked around the clock to protect our clients and the wider community. Our patrol teams covered exceptional distances, and our collaboration with authorities and SAPS remained strong. Here are a few key highlights from the month, reflecting our team's unwavering dedication to safety.
From stolen to secured in MINUTES!
On Monday 10 March, in Radiokop, two contractors parked their bakkie at a site and walked away just for a moment to inspect the area. When they returned, their vehicle was gone.
Thinking fast, they flagged down an EC Security patrol vehicle and reported the theft. Our officer immediately relayed the bakkie’s number plate to the Control Room. Thanks to our team's rapid response and coordination, the stolen vehicle was recovered some distance away.
This incredible outcome is testament to the power of teamwork, quick thinking, and dedication. Well done to our exceptional team for another outstanding recovery!
Swift Response Leads to Arrest & Firearm Recovery
On Friday 7 March a client reported suspicious activity outside his property, prompting an immediate response from our team. Upon arrival, our response officers, accompanied by the client, discovered five suspects actively digging up a cable in the nearby bush.
When confronted, the suspects attempted to flee. Four managed to escape, but one was successfully apprehended. During the pursuit, our team also recovered a stolen firearm.
Roodepoort SAPS took custody of the suspect and the scene to ensure due process is followed.
Road Safety Tips for Rainy Weather
Driving in the rain comes with extra risks, so stay alert and keep these safety tips in mind:
🔹 Watch out for potholes! What looks like a small puddle could be a deep pothole, causing serious damage to your wheels. Drive cautiously and avoid standing water where possible.
🔹 Increase your following distance. Wet roads reduce traction, meaning it takes longer to stop. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
🔹 Check your wipers and lights. Good visibility is key in rainy conditions. Make sure your wipers work properly, and turn on your headlights to be more visible to others.
